Five VVA Chapter 885 members work weekly four-hour volunteer shifts at the Wilmington VA Clinic, 1705 Gardner Road.
KC Jones, Artie Johnson and Floyd Palmer were among the original volunteers when the program started March 4, 2013, along with Claude MacDonald, chapter president at the time.
Since then, Jones, Johnson, and Palmer have earned 1,000 Hours of Service pins.
Tony Mortillaro and Jeff “Sully” Sullivan recently joined as weekly volunteers
Training plus a full background check are required.
Their purpose is direct and assist any incoming patients
When asked why he volunteers at the clinic, Johnson said it means he can help a veteran.
The Chapter applauds and appreciates their continued service
